Itching Image: Long Tall Sally

Definitely.

A hard crop can change the impression of things. This is shot with a compact camera at some distance of a local celebrity gathering in Berlin. People have gone outside to catch a breath of fresh air. I took it during a visit in April 2012.

The shot is what I would call an open image in that it poses more questions that it answers. The variety of sub-themes adds to this: what is the man in the wheelchair trying to explain to the others; the dynamics of different shoes; the hands of the guy in the center of the image; long tall sally, evidently; why is the young lady right hand side left out of the conversation; what is, overall, happening here?

There is a lot of things going on in very little space. One Friday evening in Berlin.

I call this an itching image because of the strength of the crop and the openness of the image. The situation is clearly defined as undefined.
